Snow loves to fall on the State of New York. When that happens, you’ll find many people clamoring to find the best snow tubing in NY that is available. Even when there isn’t snow falling in winter, many resorts will make their own so you can still go tubing. Here are the best options that are currently available.
- Holiday Mountain
Just 90 minutes outside of NYC, this small ski resort may only offer one lane for snow tubing, but it’s still a whole lot of fun. The hours can vary, so you’ll need to check with this Monticello resort before heading out. Children are welcomed, but must be at least 44 inches tall in order to use the snow tubing hill. If you want an intimate way to enjoy the Catskills, this is the place to go.
- Mount Peter
2016 is the first year that this resort will be offering snow tubing to visitors. It is scheduled to open in late November or December, with a 600-foot run to enjoy. They’ve installed a conveyor system to make it easy to get back up the hill for another ride. Kids must be at least 42 inches tall in order to go down the run and any kids 12-or-under must be accompanied by an adult. Prices begin at $25 for 2-hour sessions and reservations are strongly recommended.

- Mountain Creek
Though technically in New Jersey, this snow tubing resort is often closer for many New Yorkers than other resorts in the state. Two-hour sessions are almost always available because there are more than 30 runs created each season, though reservations are recommended for the weekends. Tow lines are installed to bring you back up the hill for another run.

- Jack Frost
All-day passes at this resort begin at just $25, which is the same price for a 3-hour session. That means it’s up to you to determine how long you want to stay at this resort. There are 7 chutes available for tubers, along with two tow ropes to bring you back up the hill. No reservations are taken here, so everything is first come, first served. Single tubes only are permitted on the runs, so kids must meet minimum height requirements.
